Fish & Chips from Chippy's.

We had 10cm of snow last night, lots of shovelling to do today, it was -18 with the wind chill, what better to have for lunch than fish and chips!? We are in love with this place, it never fails, consistently amazing food for a very reasonable price. I have seen the cooks filleting fish in there and they make all their sauces and dips too. We always get one home made tartar sauce and one pepper mayo, which is full of chipotle peppers and oh so tasty and spicy with a chip!

The chips are super thick, cooked to perfection, really golden and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Maybe they are double cooked? Who knows, they are great! The fish is fresh. The batter is super light, it is always crisped wonderfully. They season it all to perfection so no need to add any salt, just some malt vinegar and good old Heinz tomato ketchup. We always order cod but I believe they do haddock, salmon, crab cakes and a couple other things too. If you are in Toronto and like fish and chips this is the place to go, and that is coming from a Brit, who is used to some pretty spectacular fish and chips from back home in Liverpool!
