We left the dim sum place and went back to Megan's for dessert (the egg custard tart doesn't count) and a few games of Settlers. She had made a decadent chocolate banana bread with chocolate chips in it, as good as it sounds! Not happy stopping at that, she caramelised some bananas in brown sugar and butter to serve on the side, with some frozen vanilla yoghurt. We ate it with the banana bread warmed up, what a combination of treats! The bananas were very sweet, then the frozen yoghurt actually stopped it from being too rich a dish and the banana bread was just chocolate heaven! With this before me the first thing that entered my head (aside from wanting to eat it straight away) was wouldn't it be nice with some coffee. Not to be outdone, she pulls out a bag of decaf Kicking Horse beans and we had freshly ground, freshly brewed decaf coffee with our dessert (so we could sleep properly!). Very good way to start the weekend!
I took this next picture so you can see what it looked like right before I ate it, and you can imagine how wonderful it was!
Lucky me having a friend who cooks such yummy things and that I get to benefit from!
